Oh mercy, I forgot about this place!
So I've always said I have too many blogs. The fact that I haven't updated this one since 2007 pretty much proves that! I've been doing most of my real blogging over at Bloggity, Bloggity, Blog and a few posts over on the comic sites for news updates. That being said, if you're a regular reader here, let's go over what's been happening in the last seven years. Also, if you're a regular reader here, DANG you're patient!
In 2008 I met my girlfriend Kathryn and we've been together since. On her suggestion I went to college and got a degree in graphic design. I'm currently working for a real estate appraiser and trying to find a job in my field.
Almost two months ago my father passed away after a year of illness. I'm still coming to terms with that. On the one hand, I'm free to do things I want to do now and don't have the responsibilities of a caregiver. On the other hand, I miss him so much I would trade nearly anything to have one last day with him. To talk and give him one last hug. I'm hurting still and will be for a long time.
On to projects!
Kota's World: STILL finished. Since I've moved from Nightgig though, there's been no where online to read it. I recently set the comic back up after years on Everywhen Comics. Sound familiar? I said I'd never change from Sweatshop! Well guess what I friggin' did! Anyway, it's there and you can check it out! More on that revamp later in the post. . .
Geebo: Geebo is gone. The series was cancelled last time I posted and it's twice as cancelled now. I think the fact that it was based on a friend's son made it uncomfortable to work on. The other problem was that Kota's World ended. Continuing the story on really didn't serve a purpose. Also, the archives were lost in a hard drive crash. Don't expect to hear any more from that.
Munki's Tales: This was also a victim of the hard drive crash that killed Geebo. I'll admit it. I still want to go back to this sometimes, but to be honest I just couldn't figure out how to get it going. Munki had developed into a well rounded character in KW and honestly it would be back pedaling to go and do a series that continued with the character as written. I think if I go and do it again I'll start from scratch and set him in a separate universe. The problem is that Space Dandy is so similar to him I 'm afraid people would accuse me of stealing my own character!
The Errant Apprentice: Wow. The last time I updated here we were headed toward the end of Issue 5 of Errant Apprentice. We're currently headed toward the end of Issue 23! Terry's crossed an alternate dimension and become the Oak King in all that time and there's still a ways to go! Updates are a bit spotty right now as I try to get used to my life as it is now without my dad, but it's still going. The EA site has moved from Nightgig over to Old Dying Kitty, but can be found with my other comics at Everywhen Comics. Stop in and get caught up!
Mailbox Rocketship: THIS is the revamp of Kota's World I mentioned all those years ago. It's actually been through several rewrites and two false starts, but now it's going. I've taken some of the characters from KW and made them high school students in the town of Somethingdale and of course they're lives are anything but normal. Keith has developed powers, Mike is investigating them, Cassi is obsessed with the paranormal so she's interested. We're still kind of early in the series so it's a good time to jump on board. Updates are usually on Wednesdays, but I'm still coping with my dad. There ya go.
Sweatshop Studios: Sweatshop Studios, as a comics making entity, no longer exists. I still have sweatshopstudios.net and it points to EA, but it's gone. There are too many places with that name or something similar so I decided to start a rebrand. I now operate under Everywhen Comics which is a much more unique name. I'll always be grateful to JT and Madscott for having given me a home for so long. I'm still happy to have EA hosted on ODK, but now I need to stand as my own brand.
Anyway, that's the run down. I'll hopefully keep this blog updated a bit more regularly and may see if there's a way to embed posts over on the Everywhen site. Till next time, everyone stay safe and try not to get horribly burned to death by dragons or anything.
