Update of projects.

A general run down of where we currently stand with all the Sweatshop projects. Kota's World - Finished. Currently working on revamp for possible print only availability. Still in early planning stages. Geebo - Canceled. Let's not mince words. Geebo is over. I was retreading ground and getting no where. I wasn't connected to the characters and nothing felt real to me. Munki's Tales - Currently in rewrites. I like the direction it's going and I think some time next year I may work on it on an irregular basis. The Errant Apprentice - Doin' okay! Series continues, working on the book when I can. The cover is being planned and worked on by Warren so I'm happy with that. Sweatshop Studios - Yeah, the whole project itself. I was planning on renaming the site "Everywhen Studios" but I realized that I've been using Sweatshop now on and off for over a decade and I'll be darned if I let it go yet. That being said, Madscott and I have tossed a few ide...

SKETCHCAST!!

There were some issues with the mic, so you may want to turn your volume up a bit. I'll try and do better next time. Enjoy!

Site changes coming at some point.

All right. So the plan at this point is to redo the main page here. What I'm thinking is we'll have Errant Apprentice here on the front page with the blog being the update thing per page. Probably simpler in the end. I'm not sure when this is actually going to go down, but that's the plan and I'm sticking to it!

Welcome!

Hi folks! For those of you just joining us here at Sweatshop Studios, we've got four series here that you can reach from the links above. First there's Kota's World. KW ran from 2000 to 2005 and followed the adventures of a group of super powered (?) adventurers in an internet that is very much like the real world. Second there is Geebo. Geebo was the sequel to Kota's World and is currently on hiatus. It follows the next generation of heroes dealing with the aftermath of the end of Kota's World. Third is Munki's Tales, also on hiatus. It follows one of the more popular characters from KW and his band of sidekicks as the bum around the universe and try to avoid honest work. Lastly, and most importantly is The Errant Apprentice. In 1975 magic returned to the world of man and with it the creatures of myth and legend. Today a new order of Knights has risen to protect mankind from the more dangerous of these new beings. These are the adventures of Terry Lingal, Erran...

Sleep, or a lack there of.

Foolishly, I stayed up too late last night and was at Fenian's last night listening to Spot and Albert . Good band, but I'm exhausted. I can't even summon the energy to create a stupid story I was going to work on. It's my own fault really though. Work is a booger right now. I'll be working a lot and I have to admit I'm surprised I've gotten as much comicing done as I have. On the down side, I don't get to see my friends much. Anyhoo, stay tuned for updates.

Ass. Man. IN COLOR!

Yep. I'm now officially assistant manager at Rose's #127. What does this mean? Well, first I want to assure you that Errant Apprentice will continue as it has. I'm getting ahead on drawing and at the first opportunity I'll start trying to get ahead on colored comics. Second, a lot of my side hobbies on the web are going to take a major back seat. I hate to drop the Multi Artist Exchange, but as soon as I get the chance to finish the current round I'm going to have to drop. Other than that things should keep going smoothly. I still have most Sunday's off and for now I'm off on Tuesdays. Anyhoo, that is all. End of Line -

Nose to the Grindstone

I've done a lot of comic work this weekend. The Monday comic was finished Saturday. After that I got back to work on page 4 of the EA book and then Sunday I spent several hours slinging page 5 together. Time permitting I'm going to work on it some more this week. It hasn't all been work, of course. I saw Pirates of the Caribbean Saturday night. Much better than the second one. Warren argues that it's better than 1 AND 2, but I have my doubts. I'd have to see all three in a shorter amount of time to make that judgment. Monday is Memorial day and I want you all to think about the fact that I'll be at work all day. Mike said there's a barbecue going down that night at Scott's but I doubt very much if I'll go. I'll be quite tired. I might accidentally work on the book some more though. Anyhoo, enough rambling. More later.

LET'S TALK TRASH!!

We recorded a radio skit for the Gigcast . It's a morning zoo show for Garbage Gnomes ! JT had this great idea about doing garbage gnome stuff and I'm all for it! Check it out. I play "the Can", JT's "Grinder", Black Kitty is "Sharleen", and MadScott is everyone else. I have to admit, BK sounded just adorable as a gnome! Check it out or I hit you!

Busy-ness (not to be confused with business)

Man! I've been a working fool the last two weeks! I worked a double shift last Wednesday and I'm doing it again tomorrow! The good news for you wonderful people is that the Thursday update is uploaded and ready and will go up on time. The bad news is that I'll be at work and won't be awake enough to care when I get home. Blah. More next week I hope.

More damned blogs.

For those that wish to know or might accidentally care, I now have a new and more frequently updated blog HERE . It also has an art gallery that is NOT DEVIANT ART and will have some samples of Errant Apprentice. Big thanks to Scott and JT for hooking me up, though why I'm favored so much I'll never understand. :) More next week.

Sims and Social experimentation.

Let me start off by saying that I've been a fan of The Sims since the first game came out. I've played it straight and I've played it for laughs. The same holds true for The Sims 2. I got it last week and got one of the expansions this week and I've been mostly playing it straight. I've made some good sims this time around. The only thing of note has been that Kota in Strangeville got abducted by aliens one night. The next morning he got dumped on his front lawn and got morning sickness. Much to my dismay, ol' Keith was preggers. About two days later an alien/human hybrid was born to him which I named Robin. She's a cute green little thing. I'm trying very hard in there to get a mother for her because kids, even in The Sims, are a PAIN IN THE SPHINCTER! I've made my usual experiment in social destruction, the Crackheadz family. Since the game has a disturbing series of options for personalization I've made the most horrid assortment of Lo...

Back from the dead!

The site was down for a short time while Nightgig moved servers. I had to re-upload the site, but that's done and now we can get back up to snuff. As said before, expect a total site redesign at some point in the future and keep reading Errant Apprentice because things are about to start heating up! That's about it for now. More next time.

Free update.

Okay, so maybe it's not an actual in story comic, but I thought you guys might like to see a new page from the print book. I've started on page four and I'll see what format I publish in later. The thing may turn out to be a trade paperback or something. Anyhoo, see you all Thursday.

Schedule Change and Site News.

The update schedule is now Monday and Thursday for Errant Apprentice. I have my reasons and I think they're good ones. Also, expect a site redesign in the coming months. -End of line.

Guaging interest. . .

So, here's the deal. I'd like to publish Errant Apprentice through an online publisher. It would contain the first two issues in full color (redone for issue two) and a bonus story written by me and drawn by a guest artist. The question is (of course) would you be interested in purchasing said book? I'll be cross posting this on my website blog, in several forums, and on Comicspace so please drop me a line or comment here and let me know if there's any interest. If there's enough buzz I can get to work on rescanning and coloring as soon as possible. Thanks for your time.
First, the updates are STILL going to be on Wednesdays. Two days of work is definitely better than one day of work on it. Second, you should be reading The Path right now. I mean it. It's Arthurian Legend and the Cthulhu Mythos in a modern setting and it's damned good. Go. Now. Read it!

Where is the Update?!

How I shot web? No, seriously, if you're here looking for the next page of Errant Apprentice you're going to have to wait one more day. I'm switching to Wednesday so I can have one extra day to work on the line art. I want this thing to look as good as possible and one day of drawing just isn't cutting it any more for the first update of the week. Hope you'll understand and I'll have it ready by Wednesday morning. Promise. Also, start commenting on these blog posts! Let me know you're reading! :)

New Products! Be a Consumer Whore!!

All righty! If you go to the store using the link above you'll see that there is a new poster of Terry from the Errant Apprentice and new Sweatshop Studios buttons, mini-buttons, and magnets! Spend money! No, seriously, this is not a chea p endeavor. I've spent roughly $2000 dollars on webcomics since I first began Kota's World and in that time I've made roughly $50. I'm not trying to guilt anyone into sending money, but I would like to ask you to support the costs just a little by buying products that you can enjoy. Also, head to the other NightGig studios and do the same. As much as we love providing entertainment, we have to eat and buy paper. Thank you.

Obligitory Update.

Hello folks. Well, Issue 2 of Errant Apprentice has come to a close. Next up is Issue 3 of course and with it ANOTHER new character and something a bit more serious than last time. What it is though I'll keep quiet on until we get there. Anyway, I hope you've enjoyed things so far. They only get better from here.

Meh.

Gah, I'm tired. My brain is fried, but I got the comic for tomorrow done. This is good since I'll be working till 5 on a Sunday. Meh. I'll be working late Monday so expect the next update Wednesday or Thursday unless I get a miracle. Other than that I have little to report. More later then.

General News.

So the update goes live tomorrow. I'm sorry I missed Tuesday, but my computer's power supply fried on me so I had no PC till late Wednesday. I may miss a couple of more days till inventory is over, but other than that things seem to be going well.

New Year, same comics.

Hey folks. Welcome to 2007. Sit back, relax. I'll get us some drinks. Not a lot to say right now, except that there's a new back end on KW and Geebo thanks to Scott here at Nightgig. As always, the people here at Nightgig have gone above and beyond since I got here and it's greatly appreciated. Trust me, this will make things easier for updates. The newest things are Chapter heads in the drop downs and a neat random button that really makes KW fun to read again. It also shows how much the art style evolved over time. Anyhoo. That's it for now. More later.
